Keshav Maharaj reveals the reason behind Ram Siya Ram song
South Africa’s charismatic spinner Keshav Maharaj revealed the reason behind the song ‘Ram Siya Ram’ being played when he came out to bat during South Africa’s recent multi-format series against India. Maharaj said that he requested the lady DJ to play that devotional song. For Keshav Maharaj God remains the supreme strength and he liked hearing the devotional music while walking out to bat.
“Obviously, something that I put forward to the media lady and requested that song to be played. For me, God has been my greatest blessing, giving me guidance and opportunity. So, it’s the least that I can do, and it also just gets you in your zone. It’s a nice feeling walking out (into the ground) to hear ‘Ram Siya Ram’ playing in the background,” Maharaj told PTI.
Maharaj’s current assignment is in the SA20 tournament where he will lead Durban Super Giants. The SA20 tournament is scheduled to start from January 10 with the defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape taking on Joburg Super Kings. Durban Super Giants will kick off their campaign with the game against MI Cape Town on January 11.
