Kirk McKenzie’s resolute innings of (50) gave West Indies some impetus to get to 188. Australia in their first innings, lost their newest opener Steve Smith being taken out by West Indies debutant Shamar Joseph.
Joseph made a good move by finding Smith’s outside edge in the ninth over to disappoint Smith in his new role as Test opener for Australia. Smith departed the crease after knocking off 12 runs.
