CSK record second successive win as they crush Titans
All-round show from CSK powered them to their second successive victory when they beat Gujarat Titans by (63) runs in the seventh match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Tuesday at MA Chidambaram Stadium. It came as a hugely convincing win for defending champions who were propped up by the all-round show from their young brigade.
Asked to bat, CSK made a glittering start with young Rachin Ravindra firing (46) off (20), alongside skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad who too racked up (46) off (36) to set the tone for a formidable total. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad made a good use of the dropped catch to make a crucial contribution.
The most eye-catching show came from Shivam Dube who lived up to the expectations, hitting big sixes. Dube’s (51) off (23) propelled CSK to 206/6 in (20) overs.
In response, Gujarat Titans tottered to 143/8 in (20) with Sai Sudharsan top-scoring with (37). Other players of Gujarat Titans failed to make their impact losing their wickets at regular intervals against pace-dominated attack from CSK. Apart from putting on a show with the bat, CSK’s Rachin Ravindra took three catches in the deep, making a massive contribution to his side.
