Indian veteran spinner Ravichandaran Ashwin has showered praises on Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the once-in-a-generation bowler. Jasprit Bumrah has been the cornerstone of India’s pace attack, having led the charge at the T20I World Cup 2024, where India emerged with title victory.

Bumrah took 15 wickets in eights matches at the T20I World Cup 2024, helping India bigly in their triumphant campaign. Subsequently, he was handed player-of-the-tournament award for his swasbuckling performance.

"We Chennai people appreciate bowlers a lot. He was here for an event as a chief guest 4-5 days ago. We gave him a Rajni treatment. We (Chennai people) treat bowlers very nicely. He should be treated as a champion. I don't want to name, but Jasprit Bumrah is the most valuable Indian cricketer right now," Vimal Kumar's official YouTube channel.

Bumrah will now return to action in India’s first Test match against Bangladesh, beginning on September 19 in Chennai. Bumrah will be a vital bowler, leading India’s pace attack. Since returning to action last year in August following the back surgery, Bumrah has been bowling brilliantly.

"India has always been the country that is a batsman-dominated country, and it's never going to change. But I am so glad and happy that we are celebrating Jasprit Bumrah. Jasprit Bumrah is a once-in-a-generation bowler. We should celebrate him even more," Ashwin said.
