Haris Rauf breaks silence on confrontation video
Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has come up with the statement after the video of him being in heated exchange of remarks with a group of people did the rounds on social media on Tuesday. The confrontation was sparked after few guys passed some remarks at Haris Rauf, who was taking a stroll along with his wife. Upon hearing the remarks, Haris Rauf is seen charging towards one of the guys to confront him, but one other individual tries to pull away fuming Haris Rauf.
“I decided to not bring this on social media, but now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation,” Rauf wrote.
“As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. “It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” he stated.
Haris Rauf’s fellow teammate Shaheen Afridi took to social media to express his concern.
“It is absolutely disgraceful how Haris Rauf was treated. No one has the right to belittle and disrespect another person. I’m also shocked by those who have shared this video. Why prioritize a few likes over our humanity? Stay strong, Haris. We stand united with you,” Afridi wrote.
