“I was in touch with the table as well”: Hardik Pandya on Mumbai Indians’ picks at IPL 2025 auction
Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya has spoken out on the franchise’s picks at the IPL 2025 mega auction, which was held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. Hardik is once again gearing up to lead the side despite enduring a horrible season in the last edition of the tournament. Ahead of the auction, MI had retained Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma. During the IPL 2025 auction, they added some promising stars to the list to have a balanced squad. Expressing his views, Pandya felt that they came out pretty well.
"The auction dynamics are always tricky. When you are watching it live, it is very exciting, and the emotions are always up and down because you want this player. But sometimes, you just lose. It's very important to not be very emotional, and in the end, we have to create a whole team," Hardik said in a video posted by Mumbai Indians.
"I was in touch with the table as well, exactly who we are going for, and I think we came out pretty well from the auction and how the team is looking. We have found the right mix, which is experienced players, like Boulty (Trent Boult) is back, Deepak Chahar, who has been around, and at the same time, young guns like Will Jacks, Robin Minz and Rickelton, who are fresh. So, I think we have done pretty well. We have covered all the bases," he added.
MI Squad: Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Tilak Varma, Trent Boult, Naman Dhir, Robin Minz, Karn Sharma, Deepak Chahar, Reece Topley, Ryan Rickelton, Will Jacks, Allah Ghazanfar, Mitchell Santner, Karn Sharma, Satyanarayana Raju, Raj Bawa, Ashwani Kumar, Krishnan Shrijith, Bevon Jacobs, Arjun Tendulkar, Lizaad Williams, Vignesh Puthur
