India elect to bowl first against arch-rivals Pakistan in nail-biting Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash

India and Pakistan are all set to face off for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, this time in the Super Four stage. After winning the toss at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on Sunday, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav opted to bowl first, setting the tone for a high-octane clash.
This match holds huge importance, not only because of its impact on the tournament standings, but also due to the simmering tension that has surrounded the two teams since their group stage encounter — a match that India comfortably won by seven wickets. The build-up to today’s contest has been dominated by off-field drama, particularly the “handshake row” that unfolded during the teams' earlier meeting.
Notably, both captains once again avoided a handshake at the toss. India have made two changes, bringing in Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy in place of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. Pakistan have also made two changes, as Haris Rauf comes in for Sufiyan Muqeem, while Hussain Talat replaces Hasan Nawaz.
India XI: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Sanju Samson (wk), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav
Pakistan XI: Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Salman Agha (c), Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Haris (wk), Hussain Talat, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed
