"Stay grounded": Gautam Gambhir on Harshit Rana

In what is almost certainly their final appearance on Australian soil, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma combined to lead India to a commanding nine-wicket victory over Australia in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The two stalwarts, who have defined an era of Indian batting, left an indelible mark on the game. Chasing 237 for victory, India looked in complete control from the very start. Rohit crafted an unbeaten 121 that helped him sign off in style. At the other end, Virat Kohli provided the perfect support, finishing unbeaten on 74. Together, they stitched a majestic 168-run partnership that sealed the game with 11.3 overs to spare. Meanwhile, Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir lauded the duo.
"With the bat, I thought the partnership between Shubman and Rohit was very, very important when it was 60 for no loss. And then the partnership between Rohit and Virat was again outstanding. And special mention to another 100 [century], outstanding. The most important thing was that you finished it off, and Virat as well," he said in a video shared by the BCCI.
"I thought that is something which was very important from the team's point of view as well, and how clinical we can be in these chases, and we were very good."
Harshit Rana was impressive with the ball, taking four wickets. However, Gambhir asked the young bowler to stay grounded.
“I thought the bowlers were outstanding. The kind of start Australia had, 63/0 after 10 overs and from there to restricting them to 237 runs was an outstanding effort. And special mention to Harshit (Rana), that was an outstanding spell. I just want to say that stay humble, stay grounded and keep working hard. It’s just the start and it isn’t the end,”
