Australia have named their playing XI for the upcoming first Test match against Pakistan that is scheduled to commence from December (14) at Perth Stadium in Perth. Regular skipper Pat Cummins will be leading the team with Travis Head being named vice-captain. Travis Head will be the co vice-captain to skipper Pat Cummins along with Steve Smith who been deputy captain to Cummins. Travis Head’s batting acumen was on full display at the ODI World Cup 2023 where he played magnificent knocks to make his major contributions in Australia's title win. Veteran spinner Nathan Lyon has returned to the side after missing three matches of the Ashes series due to injury. Nathan Lyon comes in for Todd Murphy that reflects one change in the side that took on England in the last Ashes Test. Australia are with a robust squad as David Warner and Usman Khawaja will open the innings for the team with Steve Smith and Travis Head in the middle-order. In all-round, Mitchell Marsh has been preferred over Cameron Green.

Australia Playing XI for the 1st Test vs Pakistan:  David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins (c), Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood
