Sunrisers Hyderabad shocked Mumbai Indians, beating them by (31) runs to win their first match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Wednesday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Travis Head (62), Abhishek Sharma (63) and Heinrich Klaasen (80*) played outstanding innings in front of a bumper crowd, powering SRH to the highest-ever total of 277/3 (20) in IPL.

Putting in a brilliant performance, Swashbuckling Travis Head Started off well for SRH, dealing in boundaries and sixes. Abhishek Sharma from the other end was unleashing his attack, punishing Mumbai Indians bowlers for boundaries and sixes. Both batters batted with sporadic power to frustrate the MI bowlers who were toiling hard in search of wickets.

Down the order, heavy-hitter Heinrich Klaasen played with rambunctious freedom, scoring (80) unbeaten, thereby leading the team to the highest-ever total in IPL. SRH belted the best performance with the bat, posting a huge total of (277) in (20) overs for the loss of three wickets. MI's leading bowler Jasprit Bumrah wasn't able to handle SRH batters despite coming up with a tremendous spell.

In response, MI made a serene start with openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan making (26) and (34) respectively, however they faltered to carry on with the momentum, with SRH bowlers making major breakthroughs. MI fought hard with valiant efforts from young Tilak Verma, playing a remarkable and gritty 64-run knock off (34), but his efforts proved not to be sufficient. Tim David tried hard with his attacking innings of (42 off 22) unbeaten, but MI limped to 246/5 in (20) overs.
